Guests may enjoy guided boat fishing on the estate lake and the River Rye, as well as professionally guided excursions to renowned local waters known for their trout and northern pike fishing. Fly fishing lessons are also available and can be tailored to individuals or groups. Instruction is delivered by our resident professional fly-casting instructor, fully qualified with A.P.G.A.I. Ireland.

The estate lake has earned a strong reputation for producing impressive northern pike, alongside a variety of other species including trout, rudd, and perch. Guided fishing trips on the estate lake are led by experienced local guides, with all fishing equipment and life jackets provided for your comfort and safety.

Within an hour’s drive of Carton House, guests will find a selection of beautiful lakes and rivers offering excellent stocks of wild fish, particularly trout and pike. Guided full-day fishing trips to these locations can be arranged upon request.
