Our Business

The Carton House Golf Club is one of Ireland's finest Golf Clubs and is home to two of the top golf championship courses in Ireland - The Montgomerie and O'Meara Courses.

Our core business aim is customer focus in a manner that does not adversely affect the environment or the cultural heritage of the Carton Estate.

Our Core Principals

It is the policy within the Carton House Golf club to minimise our impact on the environment in a manner that does not adversely affect our core business aim. Our key initiatives are in areas of Nature Conservation, Landscape & Cultural Heritage, Water Resource Management, Turfgrass Management, Waste Management and Energy Efficiency.

Environmental Management

Carton House Golf Club strives to ensure that environmental protection is part of all business decisions, policies and practices and continues to work towards the following objectives:
Management of our two superb championship golf courses, with diligence and with the awareness that our goal is to protect the environment and prevent pollution, by employing the best control mechanisms, procedures and processes which are proven technologically sound and economically feasible.
Compliance with relevant environmental legal and regulatory requirements and provide self-monitoring to ensure compliance.
Focus on our primary environmental concerns: Nature Conservation, Landscape & Cultural Heritage, Water Resource Management, Turfgrass Management, Waste Management and Energy Efficiency.
Foster openness, dialogue, enhanced communication and discussion with staff, golfers, suppliers, contractors and all interested parties regarding our environmental performance and our environmental objectives and targets.
Encourage all contractors to be more environmentally aware and to adhere to our environmental policy while working within the Carton Estate.
Measure our environmental performance by conducting regular environmental audits and assessments of compliance with our Environmental Policy and relevant environmental legal and regulatory requirements as well as general good practice guidelines.
All golf activities are managed by experienced and trained staff. All staff are aware of this Environmental Policy and are trained to achieve continual improvement in environmental performance. This policy is published internally and is available externally to interested parties on request.
